Residencias Artísticas Mariñán

In April 2026, Lucía Aldao and Diego Delgado resumed their collaboration during the Artist Residencies at Pazo de Mariñán, developing several pieces for PAVA’s first full-length album. The initial aim was to create one or two compositions to open and close the record; the residency produced three: Ser prólogo, Ser interludio and Ser epílogo.

This idea defined the process: moving through the rooms, corridors and gardens to record their acoustics and turn the building into sonic material. The constant F in the boiler room, the reverberation of the corridors, the fireplace, the birds, the wind through the palm trees and the sound of a branch striking the iron bars all became compositional elements.

Built from these field recordings, together with voices, guitars, double bass and a choir formed by other resident artists, the three pieces frame the album as prologue, interlude and epilogue. After the residency, work continued on the production and integration of the different sonic layers, extending a collaboration that began with PAVA’s first two releases.
